Job Summary: Systems Network Security Engineer
The Systems Network Security Engineer at Seifert Technologies is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining efficient systems and network security solutions to meet the needs of our customers. This role involves acting as the primary contact for clients, analyzing their requirements, and engineering cost-effective and modern IT and security solutions. The ideal candidate will possess advanced troubleshooting skills, a strong understanding of Windows desktop and server operating systems, network infrastructure, advanced security and cybersecurity methodology, and excellent customer service abilities. This position requires a proactive approach to monitoring systems and ensuring the reliability and security of systems and network operations.

This position is onsite at our facility in Massillon, Ohio, and requires frequent sitting and other physical activities that are standard for this type of role.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Security and Cyber Security:

  • Be the Seifert Technologies subject matter expert for all things Security and Cybersecurity.
  • Stay current on advancements in Cybersecurity and act as a thought leader.
  • Analyze and respond to security incidents, leveraging other team members as necessary.
  • Review, update, and maintain security processes.
  • Help establish best practices regarding security and train team members on security best practices.

Customer Communication:

  • Provide clear, friendly, professional, and helpful communication with all stakeholders.
  • Establish clear expectations regarding actions and timeframes for resolution.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Act as the primary contact for your customer base.
  • Analyze customer needs and engineer solutions that are modern, efficient, and cost-effective according to their capabilities.
  • Go onsite to customers for projects or support, as needed or directed.

Ticket Management:

  • Provide third-level troubleshooting for desktops, email, viruses, servers, routers, switches, security incidents, and other IT issues.
  • Monitor and respond to escalated support tickets received via telephone, email, or remote monitoring tools.
  • Share best practices and training with associates regarding issue resolution.
  • Enter and update tickets in the ticket tracking system.
  • Escalate complex issues to the appropriate tier or management.
  • Ensure timely and accurate ticket closure.

Backup and Disaster Recovery Management:

  • Review backup and recovery processes to ensure they are secure.
  • Provide technical expertise to help resolve issues.

Time Management:

  • Log work hours, including login/logout and lunch breaks, in the time management system.
  • Track and enter all time and work details in the ticket tracking system.

IT Equipment Setup and Troubleshooting:

  • Set up or troubleshoot desktops, servers, switches, routers, firewalls, network printers, wireless access points, SANs, and other IT equipment.

Training and Certification:

  • Share knowledge and train others.
  • Continuously update and maintain approved IT certifications.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all processes and solutions.

In-House Support:

  • Provide internal IT support as needed.

Other Duties:

  • Perform additional tasks as required by management.

Physical Requirements:
This is an onsite position located at our Massillon, Ohio facility and requires the following physical capabilities:

  • Frequent sitting for extended periods, particularly while working at a desk or using a computer.
  • Occasional standing, walking, and bending while performing certain tasks.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally when handling equipment or materials.
  • Repetitive motions such as typing or using a mouse.
  • Ability to focus and maintain attention for long durations while seated.
  • Occasional travel to client locations for on-site support and project work.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required; Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in Systems Network Security Engineering or a similar role.
  • Certifications in A+, Network Essentials, Security Essentials, Microsoft desktop/server/365 certifications preferred.
  • Security certifications, such as CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst, CISSP, CISA, or similar preferred.
  • Results-oriented with strong, friendly communication skills.
