Triangle Molecular Toxicology LLC, located in Research Triangle Park, initially a part-time, Medical Laboratory Technician which can turn to full time over the period of time. Hours will vary depending on our daily workload so it would be a plus if candidates have flexible working hours. Candidate may manage their own working time should it required.

This is an entry level position and job duties may vary depending on the company's needs as well as the ambitions of the candidate.

The ideal candidate should have experience in the biological sciences or similar field. Highly motivated students or recent graduates with an interest in newer technologies or biotech in general are encouraged to apply.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated medical laboratory technician to oversee our laboratory operations. The ideal candidate will possess a background in laboratory procedures. The Laboratory technician will play a crucial role in maintaining high standards of laboratory techniques.

The Medical Laboratory Technician performs the following:

 Routine and specialized laboratory tests and other procedures for use in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.

  • 1 Year of clinical laboratory experience in a moderate and/or high complexity testing environment.
  • Utilizes requisite equipment, instruments, and computer systems.
  • Evaluates and reports patient results using considerable independent judgment within the scope of established testing methods.
  • Performs quality control procedures and contributes to the maintenance of the laboratory, equipment, and supplies.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of new procedures and instrumentation.
  • May assume responsibility for one or more laboratory projects or functions such as performance improvement, safety, quality control, regulatory, administrative, staff development, and computer systems.
  • Trains new employees and/or students in the theoretical and operational aspects of procedures and serves as a resource for less experienced staff.
  • Manage daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and CLIA standards.
  • Develop and implement laboratory procedures and protocols to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Oversee project management activities, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
  • Monitor inventory levels of supplies and reagents, placing orders as necessary.
  • Stay updated on advancements in laboratory techniques and methodologies relevant to the field.
  • Basic laboratory skills (emphasis on pipetting)-A must skill
  • Sample preparation to be tested for various tests methods with varied instrumentations.
  • Work with Laboratory Instrumentation Management Systems (LIMS)
  • Ability to work in both team and individual environments.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Candidate may need to Drive to customer sites to pick up samples.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory procedures, techniques, and CLIA regulations.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in managing teams.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration within the team.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail

Education Required:

 

  •  Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science or medical technology required with required licensure/certification and with equivalent experience
  • Associate's degree in medical laboratory technology with required licensure/certification and with equivalent experience.

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week, with possibility to be full time.
