The Occupational & Environmental Health Department of the 711th Human Performance Wing within the Air Force Research Laboratory (711HPW/OE) is looking for an outstanding Chemist, DR-1320-02. 

Position Duties include; but are not limited to: 

Sample Analysis: Maintains Demonstrations of Capability (DOCs) on all lines of effort. 

Assists in maintaining production for all product lines to maintain the quality and delivery objectives. 

When quality or delivery objectives are anticipated to not meet the division goal, the analyst is expected to communicate this along with possible solutions to the Branch Chief or designee.

Training: Serves as one of the primary points of contact for training for new personnel. 

Assists in the training of new military and civilian personnel; including but not limited to: On the Job Training, creating and maintaining training plans, creating and maintaining training documents and records, and communicating anticipated training goals and objectives to management.

Method Development: Assists in the development of new methods, including but not limited to: cost/benefit analysis of bringing new methodologies online, working with personnel outside of OEA to facilitate bringing new methodologies online, and generating all relevant documents and records for the new methodologies.

Knowledge Continuity: Maintains knowledge continuity within the branch via maintaining relevant documents. This includes but is not limited to: Standard Operating Procedures, Standard Works, and Reviewer Checklists.

Continuous Improvement: Spearheads continuous improvement initiatives on existing procedures including but not limited to: 6s events, value stream mapping, and root cause analysis.

Telework

Required Qualifications

United States Citizens

Males must be registered for Selective Service, see www.sss.gov

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

This position may require travel.

Education:

Chemistry Series, 1320

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year or 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to DR-02 in the Federal service or equivalent in an alternate pay system. 

Desired Qualifications

Knowledge of Air Force operations, objectives, principles, and methods

Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to multitask with strong organizational skills.

Experience in mission, major issues, program goals and objectives, work processes, and operations of the Directorate

Knowledge of management and organizational principles and practices

Strong leadership to mentor and develop other military and government civilian personnel.

Background in organizing, coordinating, and executing team assignments.
