Research & Development Intern
The Research & Development intern will work in collaboration with Berners’ R&D Department and will provide support where needed along with assisting on specific projects and in the areas of product development, and commercialization of new and existing products.
Responsibilities:
- Benchtop sample preparation, formulation, materials sourcing, product costing, plant trials, food safety planning, acceptance testing, and shelf-life testing.
- Collect and interpret data about product quality and shelf-life attributes.
- Provide innovative and develop new recipes for customers.
- Assist with manufacturing projects and sample creation.
- Maintain R&D Inventory and cross-train to other areas of R&D when needed.
- Learn and understand private label business and apply knowledge to product development and improvement.
Education/Skills:
- Collegiate Sophomore, Junior, or Senior majoring in Food Science and/or related field Chemistry, Biology with a concentration in Food Science
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and involvement on campus.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and analytical skills
- Proficient in all Microsoft applications.
17.00-22.00/hourly - There are no benefits offered for internships with the exception of Paid Time Off.
