HOURS: Full Time (40)
LOCATION: All CCA Campuses

Purpose Statement:
The Assistant Director’s role is to assist in the communication of Calvary
Christian Academy across campuses under the guidance of the Director.
Scope:
The assistant director is responsible for managing all aspects of internal/external
communication across the CCA school district as well as overseeing the department staff.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Know and understand the vision, mission, and brand identity of our organization
- Adhere to the editorial guidelines and standards in place for the organization
- Liaises with ministry partner's, school and church
- Manages CCA student and staff body communication including yearly plan as well as monthly/weekly cadence, e.g. bi-weekly In Case You Missed It newsletters
- Supervises, creates and executes delivery and cadence of news posts e.g. MyCCA, MyCCAH, MyCCANM, Brightwheel, for families and staff
- Approves all written content, including reviewing and editing as Senior Editor
- Managing writer for special projects e.g. urgent and/or sensitive communication, messages from leadership, Advancement, or as designated by the Communications Director
- Oversees social media strategy, metrics, and scheduling, collaborating with writers and designers
- Crafts messaging for external marketing efforts in collaboration with the Community Relations team
- Oversees blog schedule, assigns topics to writers, edits drafts, and posts articles to platform
- Manages student interns' development plan
- Creates and organizes project naming convention, creating a global database structure
- Lead public relations efforts, securing earned media in local and national publications and outlets and facilitating on-site press through the drafting of press releases and personalized pitches while developing relationships with reporters/journalists/influencers
- Serves as acting Director when the Director is out of office or otherwise unavailable to make time-sensitive decisions, approve time-sensitive projects, and provide counsel
- Oversees consistency of messages across all campuses
- Oversees website content by writing compelling copy, identifying appropriate images, speaking into the user experience, and collaborating with team members/freelancers.
- Attend Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale quarterly Huddle staff meetings
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs
Qualifications/Skills/Gifts:
- Strong commitment to Jesus Christ and His Word
- Strong commitment to the mission of Calvary Chapel as well as the
- educational philosophy of Calvary Christian Academy
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English or a related area. Or 2+ years’ experience in marketing, publishing, communications or related fields
- Strong writing skills and a passion for storytelling
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time, work independently, and take initiative with minimal supervision and oversight
- Must have an understanding of audience engagement, content strategies, and brand aesthetic
- Ability to use various word processing, spreadsheet, photo editing, and web editing applications, including a working knowledge of Google Applications
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work well under strict deadlines
- Communication and organizational skills
- Strong team player
- Excellent interpersonal skills for relating effectively with staff members, leadership, church body, and vendors
- Good organizational skills and extreme attention to detail
- Ability to sit in front of a computer screen for prolonged hours at a time
- Photography and video skills are a plus
- Understanding of HTML, and CSS a plus
- Experience with project management software (Monday.com, Asana, etc.) a plus
Work Schedule:
Full time (40 hours/week) - However, the incumbent may be required to work an evening
or weekend day to attend a CCA event, assist with a special project, or assist in an
emergency situation affecting the church facilities.
Sunday: Off
Monday-Friday: 7:30 am - 3:30 pm
Saturday: Off
