Job Title: Wind Instructor (Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone)
Location: Canal Fulton Music
Pay: $40 per hour
Hours: 5-35 hours per week (flexible scheduling)
Job Overview:
Canal Fulton Music is seeking a skilled and passionate Wind Instructor with proficiency in flute, clarinet, and saxophone to join our teaching staff. We are committed to providing high-quality music education to students of all ages and levels. The ideal candidate will have strong playing experience, a solid understanding of music theory, and the ability to tailor lessons to meet individual student needs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide private lessons for students learning flute, clarinet, and saxophone at beginner through advanced levels.
- Teach proper embouchure, breath control, finger technique, sight-reading, and music theory fundamentals.
- Develop customized lesson plans based on student goals and progress.
- Prepare students for recitals, performances, and optional competitions.
- Maintain an organized lesson schedule and communicate effectively with students and families.
- Offer constructive feedback and practice strategies to enhance student development.
- Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 4 years of experience playing flute, clarinet, and saxophone (formal training preferred).
- Strong knowledge of music theory and technique applicable to woodwind instruments.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to different learning styles and ages.
- Reliable transportation to and from lessons.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain scheduling and lesson planning.
- Friendly, professional, and passionate about music education.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous teaching experience (private or group instruction).
- Degree in Music Education, Performance, or a related field (or currently pursuing).
- Experience with recital preparation and student performances.
