
Trust Analyst Intern
Lapistone Trust LLC is a fast-growing South Dakota trust company primarily focusing on Chinese speaking clients. We have offices in both Pierre and Sioux Falls of South Dakota. South Dakota has a thriving trust industry that has become a global leader in the field. Lapistone Trust LLC provides trustee administration services to high net-worth Chinese speaking clients globally and is a prominent service provider in this niche market.
There are many opportunities for advancement and growth in the company. We are looking for college graduates who are interested in internship positions with potential to become full-time employees. We are also open to sponsoring H1-B visa and green card applications.
The job function for this position must be performed in-person in our Sioux Falls office. This is not a remote position. Applicant must either currently live in Sioux Falls or be willing to relocate to Sioux Falls when the internship starts.

THE ROLE AND THE COMPENSATION:
This is an internship (approximately 12-15 weeks).
- Compensation will be discussed with each candidate based on experience, qualification, and other factors.
- 35-40hrs/week during standard business hours.
- Experience Required: No specific job experience required. Training will be provided.
- Interests: Looking for someone interested in long-term career in the trust industry and financial services industry.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or working to obtain Bachelor’s degree required. You must be in the top 1/3 of your class if currently a student.
- This is an ideal position for someone with Finance, Business, Economics, Pre-Law, Banking, or Accounting major. No specific major is required. We will consider all majors.
- Starting Date of Internship: Anytime.
- Bilingual (English and Mandarin Chinese) is required for both written and oral.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with trust company operational and trust administration areas as assigned. Below are examples of what some of these functions could entail:
- Work with Treasurer to perform duties for finance, accounting, reporting and trust tasks as delegated
- Assist with account onboarding process including gathering identification documentation, assisting client filling out required paperwork, and conducting regulatory and background checks
- Assist with annual reviews, pre- and post-acceptance reviews for accounts
- Assist with risk-rating process and required initial and due diligence for trust accounts
- Assist with process of moving certain account information to new KYC software system
- Track pending items for assigned trust accounts and track unfunded trusts and report back to trust officer and/or client regarding missing or pending items and status
- Process information, mailings, and communications that come into the company
- Assist with record keeping of company documents
- Translate documents between English and Chinese
- Perform other tasks and functions as assigned
TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED AS NEEDED. YOU DO NOT NEED ANY PARTICULAR BACKGROUND IN ORDER TO THRIVE IN THIS ROLE. WHAT YOU DO NEED, IS:
