Controller

Outreach is hiring a Full-time Controller at Outreach Administrative Office to manage the Finance Department staff and be responsible for day-to-day operations, while ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures. The Full-time Controller will report to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Responsibilities:

• The Controller will advance Outreach’s mission and values by ensuring responsible fiscal management.
• The Controller will ensure that the organization complies with all applicable accounting procedures and standards in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• The Controller will develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• The Controller will oversee the timely and accurate recording of transactions into the general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• The Controller will complete bank reconciliations and month-end adjusting journal entries.
• The Controller will supervise 3 staff members, providing ongoing supervision, trainings and evaluations.
• The Controller is responsible for the documentation in support of the monthly financial statements.
• The Controller maintains internal safeguards for revenue receipts and cost expenditures.
• The Controller prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
• The Controller acts as audit liaison for each entity.
• Schedule: Full-time. 40-45 hours/ week. Monday-Friday.

Qualifications:  

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and CPA certificate are required.
• A minimum of 5 years experience, 8-10 years of experience with some public accounting experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of GAAP required.
• Progressive responsibility, including staff management experience required.
• Ability to learn and use computerized accounting software and tools as required.
• Proven experience in all aspects of accounting functions, including internal controls and responsible fiscal management.
• Dedicated to process and system improvement.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills that demonstrate a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to establish and manage multiple priorities, and work under pressure while maintaining the highest professional standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Advanced technical skills with Microsoft Office; high level of proficiency in Excel.
• A commitment to Outreach's Statement of Mission and Faith is required.
