Responsibilities

As an Intern within the General Dynamics Corporate Headquarters (CHQ) benefits team, you will work with benefits experts to administer and coordinate General Dynamics employee retirement benefit programs (401(k) and Pension Plans); support various complex projects; and research and resolve complicated benefit issues. In this role you will:

  • Assist benefits team to ensure 401(k) and pension plans are administered in accordance with the plan documents and applicable regulations.
  • Research participant inquiries. Work with management to resolve and provide timely responses. Review plan rules and present recommendations for appropriate resolution to non-routine situations.
  • Research and analyze historical data files. Perform public records searches as required. Use analytical reasoning to make recommendations.
  • Review written materials and memos to be used in employee communications and regulatory mailings.
  • Run analytical reports of plan activity for management and business units, as required.
  • Participate in special benefit related projects as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
     

Education Requirement:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related discipline.

 

Other Requirements:

  • Must possess excellent attention to detail as well as verbal, analytical, and written communication skills.
  • Must possess professionalism, discretion, and good judgement.
  • Highly collaborative and team oriented.
  • Required to demonstrate ability to perform duties and exhibit excellent record of attendance.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated by start date, unless medical or religious exceptions apply.
  • Must be willing to work in the corporate office Monday through Friday during regular business hours.
  • This is a six-month paid Internship position.
