College Intern - Waterfront Project Management Systems/Data Analyst

Location: Downtown Seattle

Minimum Salary: 20.97     Maximum Salary: 28.47

 

Some of what you'll be doing: This is a part-time school year internship position. You will assist the Waterfront Project Management team at the Port of Seattle with system and data analysis needs.

 

This role reports to the WPM Systems/Data Analyst and duties may include: 

  • Schedule, attend and document meetings 
  • Analyze & review existing reports for accuracy & potential discrepancies 
  • Participate in report/system improvement or implementation projects 

 

Software Utilized: 

  • Alteryx – Workflow & Data Prep/Implementation 
  • Tableau – Reporting 
  • Nexus – In House Project Management System 
  • Power Apps – Forms to acquire information 
  • Power Automate – Automation & approvals 
  • SQL Server Management Studio – Execute SQL Queries 
  • PeopleSoft Financials – Project Costing System 
  • Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.

 

Who you are: 

  • A student – You must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree or certificate program, or a recent graduate (< 1 year ago) in a program such as business, project management, data analyst, or related field.

  • Use of Technology – You are Proficient computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project and PowerPoint) 
  • Communication – You have good communication skills both written and verbal 
  • Experienced – You have research and analysis skills. You have good judgment in knowing when to ask questions and raise issues. 

 

What else you need to know: 

  • Work Schedule – Your normal work hours will be scheduled between Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (about 20 hours per week). Slightly more flexible start and end times are available in this role. 
  • Work Environment – You will generally work in an office environment. 
  • Limited Duration – This is a limited duration position and is expected to last no longer than five months. 
  • Safety Requirements – You will be required to comply with all work rules, safety, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements. 
  • Washington State Residency Requirement – Employees must establish a residence in Washington State within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.
