Project Engineer
POSITION OBJECTIVE: Analyze and improve existing processes in production work cells. Assess trial and develop new business opportunities. Assess ability and capability of Truvant employees and identify opportunities for improving process capability through training and awareness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Monitor and enforce site regulations • Analyze production data for improvement possibilities • Suggest, document, and implement process improvements • Train personnel on process improvements • Assist in writing procedures, work instructions and checklists for existing product lines • Plan and document trials on new production possibilities • Develop and implement plans for new line startups • Assist in writing procedures, work instructions and checklists for new lines • Train personnel on new equipment assembly and procedures • Schedule safety and operational training on new equipment • Work with Production Manager and Material Planners to optimize production schedules • Work with Maintenance Technicians on issues relating to process improvements • Assist Process Technicians • Research and suggest new equipment purchases • Manage and maintain automated PLC systems • Customer contact for new product lines • Customer contact for process improvements • Lead Projects as Assigned • Assist in Development of Pricing Work Sheets • Assist in defining Standard Throughput and Yields for new and existing products • Manage/Utilization of excess equipment when applicable • Technical advisor to all maintenance departments in corporation • Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred. • Five years in a manufacturing environment.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES: • Knowledge gained through on the job training of company products, policies, and procedures • Ability to pay close attention to detail • Skill in operating various equipment as needed to perform the job Project Engineer September 2022 • Must possess strong customer service skills. • Skill in AutoCAD. • Skill in reading and writing PLC programming • Skill in multitasking and time management • Ability to function cooperatively and effectively in a team environment with peers and personnel in other departments • Ability to keep company and customer information that is discussed or viewed while under employment with Truvant confidential • Ability to adhere to all regulatory and company policies, procedures, work instructions including but not limited to: Truvant policies, customer specific policies, ISO, GMP’s, USDA, regulatory food safety and food defense
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS: • Must be able to read documents, printouts, computer screens and other communication • Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with co-workers • Must be able to reach, touch, grasp • Must be able to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods of time • Must be able to climb, stoop/kneel, lift, pull and push • Must be able to conduct yourself in a safe manner to avoid accidents while on the production floor • Must be able to work in various environments based on building location and products • Environmental Conditions: 38-72 degrees Fahrenheit, 30-85% humidity • Level of Visual Acuity: Clerical • Level of Physical Requirements: Sedentary to medium work level; lifting and positioning weight loads up to 40 pound
