Player Development Intern (Hockey)
Overview:
EAST Hockey is seeking a Player Development Intern to assist with the 2025 summer training sessions for professional and youth athletes (NHL to 2012 birth year). This position provides a comprehensive experience in hockey development, combining on-ice involvement with operational and administrative responsibilities to support player growth. The role offers hands-on exposure to designing and delivering development programs while working closely with coaching staff and players to enhance their skills and performance. Ideal candidates should have a strong interest in hockey development and be prepared to take on meaningful responsibilities in a dynamic and fast-paced training environment.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Communicate clearly with players and staff to ensure smooth preparation and readiness.
- Support coaches in executing on-ice training sessions.
- Lead assigned projects, including supporting data collection and analysis related to athlete development and performance.
- Observe and assess player performance both on-ice and through video analysis, identifying strengths, areas for improvement and developing coaching strategies.
- Assist with scheduling and logistics for training sessions and meetings.
- Provide support with equipment management and gear needs.
Qualifications:
- Experience playing or coaching hockey at a competitive level.
- Passion for hockey and a strong understanding of the game.
- Strong understanding of offensive and defensive individual positional skills and tactics.
- Experience using analytics and video analysis tools.

Hours: Part-time/Casual, 10-20hrs/week
