Job Overview:
As a Marketing and Operations Intern, you will play a vital role in shaping our processes, enhancing client experiences, and driving innovation across our organization. You will gain hands-on experience with content creation, various social media channels, operational process improvement, event planning, and more. Whether you’re organizing data, creating eye-catching social media content, or improving client engagement strategies, your contributions will make a difference.
Compensation:
This is a full time, 10-week, summer internship with an hourly rate of $15/hour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Compliance team to design engaging social media content using Canva and other design tools.
- Research strategies to grow engagement on social media channels, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube.
- Assist in planning and coordinating events, including managing invitations, booking travel, and tracking logistics.
- Help create, test, and implement automated workflows while identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and streamline processes.
- Partner with the operations team to update and refine Standard Operating Procedures for improved consistency and clarity across the firm.
- Contribute to data management efforts by reviewing, updating, and organizing client data to ensure accuracy and accessibility. Assist in organizing internal documents using Microsoft SharePoint.
- Provide administrative support on tasks such as audits, project tracking, and data entry to aid in overall operational efficiency.
Program Overview:
At 2 Weeks:
- Familiarize yourself with Canva and other design tools to create sample social media posts. Present initial drafts to the Marketing and Compliance team for feedback.
- Begin researching strategies to grow social media engagement by compiling a list of competitor activity and engagement trends on Facebook and LinkedIn.
- Shadow event planning activities, assisting with a small task, such as compiling a preliminary guest list or researching venues.
- Shadow the operations team as they work on existing workflows and draft a list of initial improvement opportunities.
- Gain access to Microsoft SharePoint and organize one set of internal documents as a trial project.
- Assist with a basic administrative task, such as entering preliminary data into an existing tracking system.
At 4 Weeks:
- Design and schedule at least 5 approved posts for social media channels using Canva, incorporating feedback from the team.
- Present a research summary outlining 3 actionable strategies to enhance engagement on one social media platform.
- Take ownership of one aspect of event coordination, such as managing RSVPs or tracking travel arrangements.
- Begin assisting with the creation and testing of an automated workflow and identify 2 areas for potential improvement.
- Collaborate with the operations team to update at least 1 Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and receive feedback on revisions.
- Organize a second segment of internal documents in SharePoint, following firm guidelines.
- Contribute to a more advanced administrative task, such as creating a detailed project tracking report.
At 6 Weeks:
- Create 10 additional social media posts that align with the firm’s branding and compliance requirements. Begin testing posts for engagement metrics.
- Provide an in-depth presentation of engagement strategies across 2 platforms, including suggested implementation steps and tools.
- Assist in the coordination of an additional event by handling multiple logistics, such as vendor communication and travel confirmations.
- Finalize updates to 3 Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring clarity and consistency with team feedback incorporated.
- Organize and streamline a significant section of internal documents in SharePoint.
- Take responsibility for a key administrative task, such as overseeing part of an audit or project milestone tracking.
At 8 Weeks:
- Offer for Continued Internship/Job: Based on your performance, you may receive an offer to continue the internship through the school year and/or a full-time job offer upon graduation.
- Autonomy: Demonstrate the ability to work independently as a valuable member of the team.
- Content Creation: Have published at least 20 completed social media posts and report back with engagement analytics, suggesting next steps for optimization.
- Operations:
- Complete a write-up reviewing operational processes and ways to implement changes.
- Create an engagement growth strategy for all active social media channels and present it to the leadership team.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Currently pursuing a degree in marketing, business, finance, or a related field
- A proactive and resourceful attitude with a willingness to learn
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Design proficiency in Canva, Adobe products is a plus
- Creative mindset for marketing and client engagement projects
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
