Location: Hybrid (Atlanta, GA or Covington, LA) OR fully remote (for the right candidate)
Duration: 10 Week Summer Internship

Job Overview:
As a Financial Advising Intern, you will have the unique opportunity to learn from experienced advisors, shadow their meetings, and actively learn about various aspects of financial advising. This internship is structured to provide you with a comprehensive learning experience over ten weeks, with opportunities for growth and potential employment beyond.
Compensation:
This is a full time, 10-week, summer internship with an hourly rate of $15/hour.
Responsibilities:
At 2 Weeks:
- Shadow Advisor Meetings: Observe and participate in client meetings to better understand client-advisor interactions.
- Learn Meeting Preparation and Follow-up: Assist in preparing materials for client meetings and follow-up actions.
- Take Notes and Create Summary Letters: Attend meetings and compile detailed notes, summarizing key points and action items.
- Help with Various Operational Tasks: Assist with client service administrative tasks, document organization, and data entry.
- Attend Development Meetings: Monday Morning Huddle, Advisor Development, Advisor Roleplay, and Advisor Huddles.
- Learn A Lot: Immerse yourself in financial advisory concepts, terminology, and industry best practices through training and mentorship.
-Investment Management: Learn about our investment management philosophy and how we manage and monitor our portfolios.
At 4 Weeks:
- Meeting Preparation: Independently prepare materials for select meetings.
- Summary Letters: Create comprehensive summary letters for clients, showcasing your improved notetaking and communication skills.
- Operational Tasks: Handle operational tasks with increased autonomy and efficiency.
- Firm Projects: Collaborate with other interns and team members to complete important projects such as Client Relationship Manager data management and clean-up, developing and refining standard operating procedures, client experience enhancements, etc.
- Professional Development: Actively participate in firm lead professional development sessions to prepare yourself for your career post-graduation.
- Account monitoring and maintenance: Assist trading personnel with reports used to monitor cash levels, account drift, and account holdings and ensure trade settings are in good order.
- Investment tools: Assist in the maintenance of investments tools used to manage, monitor, and measure portfolio performance.
- Progress Assessment: Receive feedback and assessment of your performance.
At 6 Weeks:
- Summary Letters: Produce high-quality, client-ready summary letters independently.
- Operational Excellence: Execute operational tasks proficiently.
- Firm Evaluation: As a project, create a SWOT (strength, weakness, opportunities, threats) analysis of our firm and provide feedback on ways to improve operations and the client experience.
- Advisor Book of Business Breakdown: Begin to understand how advisors' approach and manage their client base as a business owner.
- Investment Management: Participate in calls with mutual fund portfolio managers, market strategists, and other investment professionals and offer insight into their investment processes and performance.
- Progress Assessment: Continue to receive feedback and assessment to further refine your skills.
At 8 Weeks:
- Offer for Continued Internship/Job: Based on your performance, you may receive an offer to continue the internship through the school year and/or a full-time job offer upon graduation.
- Autonomy: Demonstrate the ability to work independently as a valuable member of the team.
- Client Interaction: Demonstrate professionalism during all client interactions.
-Investment Management: Demonstrate proficiency in researching, evaluating, and communicating new investment ideas.
- Professional Growth: Complete and present two summer projects before the internship ends.
Create a write-up of everything you gleaned from the various advisors and their advising styles. Compare and contrast the different approaches.
Create and present a financial plan to the team.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Currently pursuing a degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field.
- Strong interest in financial planning and wealth management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
