Business Development Intern

Business Development Intern – Fastbreak Connect Cities Product


 

Location: Remote (with potential travel for events)


 

Type: Internship (Part-time, flexible hours)

Fastbreak Connect is a cutting-edge platform connecting cities, tourism organizations, and sports commissions to their local youth sports events through data-driven solutions. We empower communities to maximize the economic and social impact of youth sports by offering actionable insights, engagement tools, and marketing solutions.


 

We are seeking a Business Development Intern to support our Fastbreak Connect Cities program. This role focuses on identifying and connecting with potential partners such as Tourism Promotion Agencies (TPAs), Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs), and Sports Commissions to grow our network of cities and drive adoption of our services.


 

Role Overview:


 

As a Business Development Intern, you will be responsible for scouring the market for potential clients, conducting outreach to key decision-makers, and helping expand our customer base. You will be working closely with the Business Development team to qualify leads, build relationships, and drive interest in our Fastbreak Connect Cities product.


 

The ideal candidate is outgoing, highly organized, and a self-starter with a passion for sports, tourism, and technology.


 

Key Responsibilities:


 

Market Research & Lead Generation:

  • Identify potential buyers at Tourism Promotion Agencies (TPAs), Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs), and Sports Commissions.
  • Focus on senior-level decision-makers who are data-driven, manage youth sports events, and are looking for innovative ways to measure their events’ impact.

Customer Outreach:

  • Conduct cold outreach via email, LinkedIn, and phone calls to introduce the Fastbreak Connect Cities product.
  • Schedule introductory meetings and assist the Business Development team with sales pitches.
  • Follow up on leads and track engagement using a CRM system.

Client Qualification:

  • Identify and qualify leads based on their event portfolios, budgetary constraints, and technological needs.
  • Understand client pain points.

Pitch & Positioning Support:

  • Collaborate with the Business Development team to refine sales pitches and value propositions tailored to each prospective client.
  • Help craft personalized outreach materials that address the unique needs of DMOs, TPAs, and Sports Commissions.


 

Skills & Qualifications:


 

  • Interest in sales, business development, or marketing (prior experience is a plus).
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Strong research skills to identify potential leads and gather insights on organizations.
  • Comfortable with cold outreach via email, LinkedIn, and phone.
  • Highly organized with the ability to track and manage multiple leads simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with sports, tourism, or event marketing is a bonus.
  • Basic knowledge of CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.) is a plus.

Preferred Background:

  • Pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, or a related field.
  • Interest in youth sports, tourism, and tech-driven solutions.
  • Experience in customer outreach, sales, or marketing is a plus but not required.

  • Bi-weekly pay schedule plus commission opportunities
