Risk Management and Underwriting Internship
Maryland Auto Insurance seeks candidates to fill part time, contractual role in our Risk Management and Underwriting Internship Program. This is a part time position with a maximum of 29 hours per week for 8 weeks during the summer.
The internships will begin on June 9th thru August 1st. This position is blended in office and virtual. The candidate will be required to come into the office a minimum of once per week (Wednesdays) for educational lunch and learn sessions.
Maryland Auto Insurance is a Property & Casualty Insurance carrier and independent agency of the State of Maryland. We’re located in the Locust Point neighborhood of Baltimore, featuring a variety of restaurant and shopping options in walking distance from the office.
The Underwriting intern will be provided with relevant skills in a variety of Risk Management and Underwriting functions via on-the-job training.
Job duties include:
- Analyze business trends
- Develop projections
- Assist with development of performance analysis
- Assist in development of department report and dashboards
- Complete special projects as needed
Requirements:
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
Qualified applicants will possess strong technical and organizational skills in addition to excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in MS Applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point) is necessary as well as ability to maintain a high level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm and confidentiality. Candidates majoring in Risk Management or Business Management are highly encouraged to apply.
Qualifications
This position does not supervise other employees. This is a part-time, non-benefited position with the core work hours being 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Flextime may be available with prior supervisory approval. This position may be virtual.
