Editorial Coordinator
SPIE is seeking an editorial coordinator for a portfolio of academic STEM journals. This person will facilitate the peer-review process and work directly with journal volunteers, including editors and reviewers, by training, overseeing, and enabling their required tasks. Other responsibilities include monitoring and reporting on editorial board and peer review activities, and screening manuscript submissions for ethics issues and journal requirements.
Full-time, 40 hours per week position available. We are an office-first organization with office hours at headquarters with the possibility of working a couple days remote with approval.

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in English/communications or math/science is required. Candidates must have strong computer skills, including high proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to coordinate multiple projects and function well under competing deadlines. Experience with customer relationship management software is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits package includes:
- Competitive wages, annual discretionary bonus. Pay Range $23.52 to $34.12 per hour.
- Medical, dental and vision benefits provided (100% employer paid premium for the employee, 75% employer paid premium for the dependents).
- Defined retirement contribution: SPIE provides an automatic 5% contribution, plus SPIE offers UP to 5% matching contributions and 25% vesting each year, 100% vested after 4 years.
