The vision of the Department of Food Science and Technology is to be a global leader in advancing trans-disciplinary approaches for safe, sustainable, and healthy foods through innovative research, teaching, and outreach. The Food Innovation Center is located on Nebraska Innovation Campus, home to the Scarlet Hotel and the Mill Coffee :& Bistro.

As the Office Associate, you will:

  • Provide administrative support to the graduate program, including responding to inquiries and maintaining applicant and student records.
  • Provide professional communication and assist students with program requirements.
  • Assist faculty members with roster, textbook, and evaluation functions.
  • Coordinate departmental scholarships, fellowships, and assistantship application procedures, deadlines, and files.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the team and department.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma plus four years of administrative support experience, OR
  • Associate’s degree in business or related field plus two years of administrative support experience. Additional relevant education may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams) or similar tools, and the ability to quickly learn and navigate new software and digital tools.
  • Comfortable working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and able to communicate effectively with those for whom English is not a first language.
  • Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Posted Salary:  $18.80/hr minimum
