Community Engagement & Ticketing Internship (PAID AND FREE HOUSING)

As the Community Engagement & Ticketing Intern, you will gain tangible experience around what it looks like to engage a community in the context of a professional sports team while also learning what it takes to run a box office. With a clear vision toward a bright future, we will work together to maximize the fan experience, create a deeper sense of community value, and stand as a centerpiece for everything baseball for our good neighbors in Missoula. We are looking for an intern with a hunger to learn about professional sports who wants to grow both personally and professionally through the business of baseball. The ideal candidate will be someone who wants to lead while being driven by learning. This person needs to be comfortable in high-stress situations.
This is a paid ‘For-credit’ internship. Housing provided.
Responsibilities and expectations:
- Honor our working values and participate as part of the team
- Take pride and ownership of the stadium and fan experience
- Must have a passion for working hard and embracing success
- Must be self-motivated and able to manage time well
- Prospect, coordinate details and logistics of community events with event organizers
- Manage scheduling of community events staff and mascot
- Collaborate with marketing department to support their needs in promoting and capturing community events
- Collaborate with the sales department to support their needs in generating leads and actively sell at appropriate events
- Log all community activity communications in a CRM database
- Passion for ticket sales and creating a smooth buying process for customers
- Assist the Ticketing & Community Engagement Specialist in running day-to-day box office management
- Assist in back end operations and ticket fulfillment
- Manage hourly staff at downtown satellite box office and stadium box office
- Process Will-Call and fulfill day-of ticket requests
2025 season projects:
Community & Partner Events Project:
You will be the face of community engagement events outside of baseball during the season. While working directly with the Community Engagement & Ticketing Specialist and community organizers, you will help plan, execute, and manage our community & partner events. Events will vary in scale, attendance, and impact - allowing you to manage a staff of 1-5 for any given event. Completing this project will provide you with proficiency in customer service, event management, organization, and community engagement programming.
Box Office Management:
Working hand and hand with the Ticketing & Community Engagement Specialist, you will help oversee the downtown satellite box office and stadium box office sales and operations. Through this project, you will gain experience operating a ticketing software to sell tickets and gain back end knowledge, process Will Call, fulfill ticketing requests, and eventually coach/manage others to do so. Completion of this project will give you confidence in the back-end management of ticketing software, improve your time-management skills, and provide relationship-building experience with our fans and season ticket holders.
