Friends of Fondation de France is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, established in 2000. We facilitate contributions from individuals and institutions in the U.S. to a wide array of trusted French and international charities, boasting over 170 projects across various philanthropic sectors. Who we seek
We are on the lookout for an enthusiastic and dynamic fundraiser who can effectively communicate our philanthropic mission and bolster our fundraising initiatives. This year marks a significant milestone - the 25th anniversary of Friends of Fondation de France - and we want to increase donations to both Friends of Fondation de France and Fondation de France.
The selected intern will be tasked with developing a comprehensive strategy to boost contributions for programs led by Fondation de France. Additionally, you will analyze the existing donation base of Friends of Fondation de France and cultivate relationships with our donors. Utilizing professional databases, you will identify potential new donors and reach out to them to expand our support network.
In alignment with our commitment to supporting our grantees, you may be asked to collaborate with select grantees and develop strategies for fundraising within the United States.
You will work directly with the Executive Director and may contribute to organizing fundraising events for our grantees. We are looking for a self-starter, with excellent writing skills (English), creativity, independence and a proven interest in cross border philanthropy.
The ideal candidate should be able to commit to approximately 10-15 hours a week, with a flexible schedule, at a rate of $20 per hour. Authorization to work in the USA is required. In addition to compensation, Friends of Fondation de France will facilitate internship credits as needed. The position is based on site in NYC, 5th Ave, though remote work options are available for suitable candidates.
Responsibilities:
- Implement strategies to expand our donor base
- Help cultivate relationships with donors through communications and events.
- Identify and engage potential new donors.
- Draft and distribute fundraising messages.
- Research opportunities and draft grant applications after thorough analysis of potential funders.
- Provide assistance with event planning, and overall operation of the organization
- Undertake other assignments as needed
Skills and experience:
- Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills
- Native-level proficiency in English, knowledge of French language is a plus but non mandatory
- Adaptability and strong communication skills
- Reliability, motivation, a quick work pace and keen attention to details.
- Relevant internship experience or education is preferred, but not mandatory.
