 ** Must have Medication Aide Certification through the state of Ohio Nursing Board**

Days: 7am-11:30am

Can pick up additional shifts as needed!

SUMMARY OF POSITION

In accordance with the mission and values of The Village of St. Edward the Medication Aide provides for personal care needs of residents and provides assistance and activities as delegated by the nurse. Some tasks that are delegated by the supervising LPN/RN including monitoring resident conditions, documenting and reporting any condition changes, monitoring for drug reactions and at the direction of LPN/RN, administer certain types of medication.

Qualifications:

  • Must at least be 18 years of age
  • High school education or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) in Ohio in good standing
  • Current Medication Aide Certification approved by Ohio Board of Nursing
  • May have Weekend/Holiday Rotation

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift, push and pull 50 pounds independently and over 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Possesses the necessary dexterity to feed, bathe, etc.
  • Possesses the ability to bend, stoop, and reach at different angles.
  • Walks, stands, and sits intermittently throughout the day.
  • Well-lighted, well-ventilated rooms and halls.
  • Must understand infection control performance.
  • Must be able to utilize therapeutic communication.
  • Must communicate professionally and with empathy to residents, families, visitors and coworkers
  • Required to make independent decisions.
  • Required to assist in response to emergency situations.
