Curriculum Writer for Christian Schools

 

The Christian School Curriculum Writer works with a team of people to develop AiG’s Christian school curricula. This person is responsible for developing and writing educational materials for elementary through high school ages in multiple subject areas, including Bible, history, science, and apologetics.

The ideal candidate will have extensive professional experience in writing, editing, curriculum, and/or developing educational content to assist with quality assurance during a project cycle. The position requires grade level discernment while developing written content, reviewing other written content, and working as a team to make the content changes as necessary to ensure integrity and quality of the final product. This position requires extensive knowledge of Answers in Genesis positions, content, and material as well as having editorial skills with experience in laymen and semi-technical writing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and write curricula for various age and grade levels with a biblical worldview and presuppositional apologetics integration
  • Design and implement course objectives, lesson plans, and instructional strategies
  • Work collaboratively with subject matter experts and instructional designers
  • Create engaging and interactive educational content and assessments
  • Adapt and evaluate course effectiveness
  • Continuously improve and update educational content based on feedback and assessments
  • Promote the mission and standards of Answers in Genesis.
  • Prioritize personal integrity in all interactions and assignments
  • And all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management

 

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Must agree with and be able to sign our Statement of Faith 
  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Regular attendance at a local Bible-believing church 
  • Must be able to work on-site at the offices of Answers in Genesis
  • Extensive knowledge of creation/evolution issues 
  • Thorough working knowledge of presuppositional apologetics, especially in relation to young-earth/biblical creation
  • Excellent writing and communication skills 
  • Research skills 
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, prioritize, and follow multiple projects and tasks through to completion with an attention to detail
  • Ability to work under deadlines
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 
  • Familiarity with Adobe InDesign a plus 
  • Aptitude for computers and technology 
  • Ability to give and receive criticism with a graceful and teachable spirit 

 

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in science, history, or apologetics with excellent writing and communication skills
  • Two years of experience in Christian school classroom teaching
  • Recent experience in curriculum development and writing preferred
  • Experience in aligning educational content to selected standards
  • Knowledgeable in the Bible and apologetics
