GRANT WORKER – Unified Family Court

(Pinellas-funded)

 

Administrative Office of the Courts

Sixth Judicial Circuit

 

Description of Work:

This is a grant-funded position lasting up to five years. It is responsible paraprofessional work assisting in the administration of the SAMHSA expansion grant, Keeping Families Together track of the Dependency Drug court within the Unified Family Court.  Working contacts are established with the Keeping Families Together and Dependency Drug Court Teams, as well as Child Protective Investigators, participants, families, treatment providers, social and community service providers and other members of the public and possibly with Court system personnel, State Attorney’s Office, Case Managers, Regional Counsel, other appointed attorneys and the Clerk of the Circuit Court.  The purpose of these contacts is to engage potential participants in the program, ensure success with the program and assist in the monitoring, evaluating and improving the handling of cases.

 

The Unified Family Court Keeping Families Together Grant Worker must exercise discretion in dealing with confidential and extremely sensitive issues. Work is performed under stressful conditions and involves contact with individuals involved in emotional situations as well as heavy telephone contact with treatment providers and others working with the family along with field work. Work includes meeting with potential participants to attempt to engage them in the program, coordinating services for participants, facilitating staffings and participating/speaking in proceedings as applicable. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Unified Family Court Director. Assignments are made orally or in writing and work is reviewed through observation of results obtained, conferences and periodic reports or evaluations.

 

Minimum Training and Experience Required:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major study in child welfare, public or judicial administration, education, criminology, social work, or a related social science and two years of experience working with families in need and/or experiencing substance use disorder.  Progressively responsible experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required college training.

Salary:         $1545.76 bi-weekly = $40,190.00 annually plus Pinellas County benefits. Position is funded until January, 2030.
