Jennings Financial Advisory Corp., located in White Plains, NY, is seeking motivated JD or LLM candidates (1L, 2L, or 3L) for an unpaid Legal Internship/Externship program. This position offers hands-on training in diverse areas of law including contract law, corporate law, financial regulation, real estate law, insurance law, mortgage compliance, and employment law.
This internship is designed to provide meaningful legal experience in a multi-disciplinary financial services environment. We also support law school externship credit where applicable.

Current JD or LLM students (1L, 2L, or 3L) seeking academic credit or practical legal experience
Students interested in corporate, compliance, real estate, labor & employment, or financial services law
Detail-oriented individuals with a passion for learning, strong communication skills, and a proactive attitude
βοΈ Key Responsibilities
Legal Interns will work under the supervision of in-house counsel and senior leadership, with opportunities to contribute to real legal work across departments. Tasks may include:
Contract Law & Commercial Transactions
Assist in drafting, reviewing, and revising contracts including vendor agreements, insurance contracts, service agreements, real estate documents, and client engagement letters
Research and evaluate contractual risks and provide recommendations for revisions in accordance with legal and regulatory standards
Support contract negotiation preparation and cross-departmental coordination
Corporate & Regulatory Compliance
Prepare and maintain corporate governance documentation, business registrations, and regulatory filings
Research legal and regulatory frameworks related to financial services, insurance, real estate, and tax law
Monitor relevant state and federal compliance obligations
Employment Law & HR Legal Support
Assist the Human Resources Department in developing and reviewing employee contracts, independent contractor agreements, NDAs, and employment policies
Research and provide memos on employment regulations, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and Title VII
Support legal counsel with matters involving employee onboarding, discipline, investigations, and workplace compliance
Real Estate & Mortgage Compliance
Assist in drafting and reviewing documents for real estate transactions and mortgage compliance
Help prepare disclosures, conduct legal due diligence, and track regulatory changes
Legal Research & Internal Support
Conduct in-depth legal research and prepare memoranda across a range of topics
Attend internal legal and business meetings, summarize key takeaways, and assist with documentation
Provide direct support to in-house counsel and the companyβs CEO
β Internship Requirements
Time Commitment: Minimum of 13 hours per week
Location: On-site only at 214 Mamaroneck Avenue, White Plains, NY 10601 (no remote work available)
Skills: Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills
Preferred: Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates encouraged to apply
