Financial Services Division

The Financial Examination Division conducts examinations of insurance companies domiciled and operating in North Carolina to determine financial condition, legality and propriety of operations and fair and equitable treatment of all policyholders. An Examination Report is prepared based on the results of the field examination. The work is guided by state laws and regulations, departmental policies and procedures, and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.

Intern Duties: An intern would be able to assist with workpaper documentation of identified key controls, testing of controls, risk assessments, substantive testing of financial statement balances and drafting reports.
