WHO YOU ARE
You are an eager individual who is looking for an opportunity to help children with special needs reach their full potential. As a Summer Intern, you will be hands-on within the business assisting with clerical work, sitting in on education and therapy sessions, and engaging directly with the students.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Clerical Support - Assist with clerical tasks of the business during the school day
- Observation - Sit in and observe educational or therapeutic sessions with teachers and providers
- Engagement - Be directly engaged with our summer students
- Other responsibilities as assigned
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
- Willing to commit to the intern position for the entirety of our 6-week Extended School Year Program
- Willing to learn, get hands-on experience, and support the Hope team
- Able to commit 30 hours per week physically at the facility
- Experience working with individuals with developmental delays (Preferred)
Clearances & Training Required
- Act 33 PA Child Abuse History Clearance
- Act 34 PA State Criminal History Clearance
- Act 114 FBI Clearance issued by the Dept of Education
- Act 126 Mandated Reporter Training Certificate
- Act 168 from Previous Employers where you came into contact with children
- CPR/First Aid
- TB/Physical
