Technology Coordinator

Purpose: To oversee the maintenance and operation of technology for distraction-free worship services. Provide technology resources at scheduled Heartland sponsored events.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Creative duties for worship services and Heartland events 
    • Serve on the Programming Team; review services to celebrate successes and identify ‘Even-Better-If’s’ for upcoming services.
    • Prep worship center or location for rehearsal by organizing the stage, setting up and tearing down necessary audio equipment, importing and formatting slides, building lighting scenes, troubleshooting at rehearsal, etc. Maintain, store, and/or repair failing equipment as needed adhering the approved budget.
    • Ensure consistent front of house mix quality at rehearsals.
    • Offer musical/arrangement/mix feedback.
    • Load approved Sermon slide media and complete a final quality check/run through on Propresenter Thursday afternoons, in person and  with projectors on.
    • Maintain Sermon notes, etc. on the Church Center app.
    • Maintain the Media Library on the website (clip and post videos) on Subsplash.
    • Maintain Planning Center Scheduling of Hosts, Teachers, etc; PC Sermon Planning.
    • Train volunteers on the Technology Team (ProPresenter Operator, Audio Operator, Lighting Operator, Livestream Operator, and Camera Operator) and act as a floater during Sunday morning services filling in where needed.
  2. Live Stream management 
    • Overseeing all aspects of live stream production and schedule to provide a stable and quality online experience for our guests/online members.
    • Provide support and guidance to volunteers on best-practices.
    • Be present and available to troubleshoot and resolve technology issues.
    • Mix audio for live stream.
    • Install, repair, upgrade live stream/camera related systems.

Optional Responsibilities that may or may not be assigned based on selected candidates experience:

  1. Organization Information Technology system management
    • Maintain, store, and/or repair failing equipment as needed adhering to an approved Technology budget.
    • Oversee the installation of new IT technology systems.
    • Administer the phone database; 3CX, providing staff with phone numbers and training.
    • Maintain administration-level access and passwords to Heartland Google Suite, Canva, ClickUp, Creative Cloud, Slack, Planning Center, Church Center app, Stripe, Subsplash, etc. 
    • Support staff and volunteer IT needs for Sunday services in both the Main Worship Center, Kids, and Students (Propresenter, etc.)
    • Install/maintain/deploy technology equipment needed for services and miscellaneous Heartland events that need audio or worship (men’s events, young at heart, staff meetings, etc.)
  2. Communications 
    • Assist with design of canva files and procure all print projects.
    • Help create, order, and maintain Heartland branded merchandise.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree in Recording Arts and Technology and/or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field preferred.
  • Prior experience with recording arts technology, sound design audio, video, and lighting systems required.
  • Satisfactory results on background check process.
  • Able to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in Standard English.

Required Skills: 

  • Understands the various systems used in live stream production (broadcast software, cameras, hardware, computers).
  • Proficient with the Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Audition, Photoshop, etc.).
  • Understands lighting and composition for video.
  • Ability to troubleshoot calmly under pressure.
  • Computer literate in Google suite required.
  • Prefers working in a fast-paced, always-changing environment.

Physical/Other Requirements:

Must regularly lift or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds, using proper lifting techniques such as lifting or moving equipment or help from another staff member.

Working Conditions:

This position is mainly on-site but a request can be made for some hours to be completed under a hybrid work arrangement. Some local travel will be expected to attend meetings. Some required hours will fall outside of conventional standards (Wednesday evening rehearsals and Sunday morning services, etc.).
