Crime Victim Advocate
JOB SUMMARY
A Crime Victim Advocate navigates adult criminal and juvenile justice court proceedings and provides a broad spectrum of trauma informed services and support to crime victims. They will also liaison between victims, prosecutors, law enforcement and community resources; review and evaluate cases to ensure all named victims have meaningful access to their rights under the law; and prepares correspondence, documentation and court pleadings as well as participates in various interagency activities. This position works under close to moderate supervision.

Annual salary range of:

$44,892 - $60,790
- Note: salary placement will be based on your level of directly related experience and education consistent with Oregon's pay equity law.
- This position guarantees two salary raises within your first year. Increases are given at the end of the 6 month probationary period and at the 1 year anniversary, as long as your performance is in good standing! Increases are given until the maximum of the salary range is reached.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The following minimum qualifications are required for this position:
- High School Diploma or GED; AND
- At least 4 years of experience in the field of Human or Social Services, Psychology, Education, Criminal Justice, Victim's Outreach Services, Community Projects or Community Justice.
An equivalent combination of closely related education and experience may be accepted. Please note candidates must have at least 6 months of actual work experience (not internship experience) to be considered as equivalent. 1 year of internship experience in a prosecution office will be accepted in lieu of 1 year of work experience.
Special Requirements
Must pass a fingerprint based background investigation and comply with all Federal, State and Local laws.
- Must have, or obtain, Notary Public certification within the first month of employment.
- Must have, or obtain valid ODL, within the first month of employment with acceptable driving record.
- Must successfully complete the State Victim Assistance Academy, Basic Victim Advocacy Certification within the first year of employment.
