Pay Range: $85,000 - $110,000 (Dependent on Experience)

Your Role.

 

The Bear Creek School is currently seeking to add a member to our academic leadership team! The Dean of Academics supports the academic programs by ensuring adherence to best practices to create a predictable and supportive student culture. The Dean of Academics oversees these primary areas: The student information system use and practices, new teacher success strategies, department chair oversight to that provides curricular vertical and horizontal alignment, and pedagogy training and coaching.

We are seeking an individual who will…

 

Student Information System (Veracross) Practices

  • Assess and promote adherence to Veracross departmental guidelines
  • Coach teachers in best practices for grading, grade turnaround, and assessment
  • Develop and advance best practices on academic system use (Teams, Class Notebooks, Rubicon, Veracross)

New Teacher Training and Success Strategies

  • Direct New Teacher 101 and 201 curriculum in alignment with the faculty professional excellence model
  • Oversee implementation of success strategies and coach teachers through surveys/feedback, grade reports, observations
  • Train new teachers on systems and processes
  • Plan and lead Ed Tech. Foundations curriculum
  • Lead the mentoring program by selecting mentors, overseeing mentor training, and checking on mentoring relationships and progress

Department Chairs 

  • Oversee the department chairs in collaboration with the division heads
  • Promote the effectiveness of department meetings through goals for vertical and horizontal curricular alignment
  • Train and coach department chairs in goal setting, running effective meetings,  and implementation steps

Pedagogy

  • Train and coach teachers in best practices for lesson planning and pedagogy in collaboration with the division heads
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

 

The successful individual in this position will:

Required Experience and Education.

  • Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience required
  • Master’s in education preferred
  • Teacher certification preferred
  • Currently held CPR/AED/First Aid Certification (with Epinephrine Auto Injector supplement included), or arrangements made to obtain certification within 90 days of employment start date
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer. No sponsorship is available for this position
