2025 Airport Summer Internship

Airport Summer Internship Opportunity 
 

The Maryland Aviation Administration (MAA) is the owner and operator of Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI Marshall Airport) and Martin State Airport (MTN Airport), serving over 27 million passengers annually.

The MAA is actively seeking opportunities to develop the future workforce, through dynamic and engaging internship opportunities. The MAA Internship Program equips college students with knowledge of the transportation and aviation industries, while simultaneously providing insight on the MAA's contributions to the State of Maryland. 

The purpose of the MAA Internship Program is to provide a unique training experience designed to enhance the professional development of students. 
 
The Airport Internship Program will:

  • Offer college students knowledge and experience that will assist with transitioning from full-time students into professional employees.
  • Provide an understanding of the transportation industry and MAA's organizational structure.
  • Enhance leadership skills, teamwork, communication, and job knowledge through Competency-Based Learning.

Applicants selected to participate may be assigned to BWI Marshall Airport (Anne Arundel County, MD) or Martin State Airport (Baltimore County, MD).

Qualifications:

 

Requirements:

  • Must currently be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at an accredited college or university.
  • Major in Aviation, Engineering, Architecture, Information Technology, Finance, Communications, Marketing, Environmental Services, Public Administration, Business Administration or Business Management.
  • G.P.A of 2.5 or higher.
  • Must be able to complete and pass all pre-employment screenings.
  • Submission of college/university transcripts, resume, and personal statement.

Personal Statement Instructions:
Be sure to include your name in the file name and the document. Personal Statements may be submitted as a Word document or PDF. Personal Statements should be no more than 1 page (Times New Roman font, double-spaced).

Prompt:
Please write a personal statement narrative in which you address the following:
 

  • Why are you interested in the 2025 Airport Summer Internship program?
  • What will you bring to the summer internship program as an intern?
  • How you will link your involvement in the summer internship program with your career goals and personal aspirations?
  • How do your goals and interests align with the MAA’s culture (i.e. values, mission, and vision)?
