SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS - BIG HORN COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT #4 - BASIN, WY

Big Horn County School District #4, Basin, Wyoming, is accepting applications for a superintendent of schools. The candidate should demonstrate successful teaching, management, administrative and instructional leadership skills and possess high moral character to inspire and lead a school district that expects and supports a comprehensive educational program for its students. Salary will be not less than $120,000 and includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Big Horn County School District #4 is situated in southern Big Horn County and serves the communities of Basin, Manderson and Hyattville. Basin is the county seat of Big Horn County and a major employer of the area. The town of approximately 1,300 residents has comfortable dwellings, wide streets, and a family-friendly atmosphere. Nestled near the center of the Bighorn Basin, the communities of the district enjoy plentiful outdoor recreation opportunities. With Cody and Yellowstone to the west, the Big Horn Mountains to the east, and the Big Horn River running through the area, residents can explore all the beauty and adventure the region has to offer. The local economy is based upon agriculture (sugar beets, alfalfa, grain, pinto and northern beans and corn), oil, natural gas, and bentonite. Cattle and sheep graze on the grass lands of the district, while horses are still raised for riding pleasure. Over 376,000 acres of forest lands are in the district. Basin is also home to the Wyoming Retirement Center.

Big Horn County School District #4 serves approximately 235 students in two schools that offer a comprehensive educational program for students in grades Pre-K through 12. The educational program is fueled by the energy of an active and informed Board of Trustees, an experienced and dedicated staff, and interested and participating parents and community members. The district is fully accredited by the Wyoming Department of Education and serves the students, families, and communities of southern Big Horn County.
