SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS - BIG HORN COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT #2 - LOVELL, WY

Big Horn County School District #2 (BHCSD2), Lovell, Wyoming, is accepting applications for a superintendent of schools. The successful candidate should demonstrate successful teaching, management, administrative and instructional leadership skills and possess high moral character to inspire and lead a school district that expects and supports a comprehensive educational program for its students. Salary will be not less than $140,000 and include a comprehensive benefits package.

Lovell, Wyoming rests in an area rich in variety, history, and contemporary life. Surrounded by mountains on three sides: the spectacular Absaroka and Beartooth ranges to the west and the rugged Pryor Mountains to the north and the beautiful and “user friendly” Big Horns to the east. The community offers fresh, clean air, and boundless wonders to enjoy in the form of the majesty of the Big Horn Canyon, the freedom of the Pryor Mountain wild mustangs, and the mystery of the historic Medicine Wheel. Opportunities for hunting, fishing, boating, snowmobiling, cross-country and downhill skiing, and other recreational endeavors are abundant. Farming and ranching are substantial employers in the community. The Western Sugar Factory processes the sugar beets grown in the area. Oil, gas and mining exploration are also major industries. Cody, the home of Buffalo Bill Cody, and Powell, the home of Northwest College, are both within 50 miles of Lovell. Billings, Montana and the beautiful Yellowstone National Park are both within 100 miles.

Big Horn County School District #2 serves approximately 710 students in three schools that offer a comprehensive educational program for students in grades kindergarten through 12. Dedicated staff support student development through a well-balanced curricular experience. Students explore all core subject areas along with opportunities to meet student interests and prepare them to be college and career ready. The district is fully accredited by the Wyoming Department of Education.
