Marketing, Communications and Partnerships Intern

Primrose School of Middleton (PSM) is a 12,500 sq ft. premier early education center in Middleton, WI. Opened in 2016, we are proud to serve full-time students new-born through pre-kindergarten, after school and summer programs for elementary school children. Our families are at the center of all we do, and we take incredible pride in creating the best possible experience for each child and every family at PSM. PSM provides a research-based Balanced Learning® early education approach that is overseen by an elite council of experts serving over 500 Primrose schools nationally. Our classrooms are designed and staff are trained to bring to life an experience that balances purposeful play with nurturing guidance from teachers to encourage curiosity creativity and compassion. We believe in the power of community, both for our families and in our local neighborhoods.

 

We are looking for an outgoing and energetic self-starter with a passion for growing an engaged community and building professional relationships. The Marketing, Communications and Partnerships Intern will report to the Chief Operations Officer and be responsible for: 

Parent Engagement

  • Understanding the brand, positioning and key value-propositions of PSM and support the development of parent communications.
  • Organize existing parent feedback, insights and areas of opportunity as inputs to potential engagement initiatives
  • Co-developing initiatives and programs that will increase the positive engagement of the parent community.
  • Support the successful implementation of initiatives and programs.
  • Co-develop tracking and analytics of initiatives and programs, support continued development and iterations.

Community Engagement & Partnerships

  • Understanding the brand, positioning and key value-propositions of PSM and overseeing external communications.
  • Organization existing community engagement opportunities, insights and partners
  • Co-developing external initiatives and programs that will increase the community exposure of PSM, enhance PSM’s reputation and grow enrollment.
  • Support the successful implementation of initiatives and programs, including leading stakeholder conversations and representing PSM at events.
  • Co-develop tracking and analytics of initiatives and programs, support continued development and iterations.

The Marketing, Communications and Partnerships Intern will work closely with the PSM Leadership Team, the Chief Operations Officer and Revel Discovery, LLC (strategic outreach consultancy) to grow parent engagement, expand community outreach and build professional partnerships. This is an excellent opportunity to gain cross-functional experience leading public-facing initiatives that will create real-world impact on the continued success of PSM. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives around community engagement
  • Experience creating and managing engaging brand-aligned communications quickly and professionally
  • Ability to represent a professional brand in interactions with business owners, industry executives,
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively to successfully achieve outcomes
  • Creative spirit, playfulness, positive energy and engaging curiosity
  • Strong interest in early-child development, childhood playfulness and being a part of creating an amazing world for families and their little ones
  • Excellent team communication skills and use of virtual communication software
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint

 

Hours
This position is a part-time (10-20 hrs per week) Winter/Spring internship, with the opportunity to carry over into a part-time / full-time summer internship.

Pay rate
$15/hr

 

Location

This is a hybrid work position, anticipate a 1/2 day per week onsite at PSM in Middleton, WI, and attendance at events in Middleton, WI as determined. All other work to be conducted remote.
