Business Development Associate

Position Overview:

The Business Development Associate will partner with Angel Oak Capital’s internal and external wholesalers to support sales activities and develop product interest from financial advisors across the country. The BDA will receive hands on experience working alongside veteran Financial Wholesalers, Senior Portfolio Managers and Analysts, as well as the Distribution Management Team. Finally, the BDA will be instrumental in growing Angel Oak Capital’s assets under management and helping launch new, ground breaking products in the securitized and alternative investment space.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Support internal and external wholesalers across various geographies to schedule meetings and phone calls for wholesalers with new prospects at firms such as Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch, UBS Financial, Raymond James, Wells Fargo, and others.
  • Prospect pre-existing contacts in assigned territories to establish timely introductions to the internal or external wholesaler
  • Create and execute effective outbound call campaigns to new prospects
  • Assist internal and external teams in market research and competitive peer analysis
  • Document all daily activities, such as relevant calls, emails, and follow-up activities in Salesforce.com
  • Prepare investment marketing materials and presentations
  • Engage with Portfolio Managers during weekly team meetings
  • Develop and continually improve upon strong product, industry, market, and economic knowledge
  • Adhere to all compliance requirements and firm guidelines

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

The selected candidate should be a goal-oriented, highly motivated, organized, and self-directed individual who is constantly striving to exceed expectations. The candidate will maintain a positive attitude, a high level of activity and be motivated by surpassing goals and increasing sales within their territory.

  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university required;
    • Business, Economics, Finance major preferred
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office
  • Strong written, sales, presentation, and telephone skills
  • Competitive, results-oriented mindset
  • Ability to collaborate with a variety of different people and roles
  • Values diversity of thoughts, perspective, and expression
