Research Analyst
Role and Responsibilities
The Research Analyst will play an instrumental role in carrying out Imagine’s mission, contributing to building evidence of the efficacy of tablet-based software in helping children to become literate and numerate. The Research Analyst will work closely with senior members of Imagine’s research team to assess learning outcomes during program expansion in multiple geographies in sub-Saharan Africa. These studies currently involve large-scale, cross-sectional data collections that are used to monitor children’s learning outcomes at scale, among other research designs. The Research Analyst will contribute to all stages of the studies, including planning, data collection and cleaning, data analysis, documentation, and summarizing and communicating findings. The Research Analyst will help to review and summarize prior research and prepare materials for periodic reporting to Imagine’s core team, research advisors, and board. The Research Analyst will be an integral member of the Imagine research team.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following competencies, experiences, and qualities:
Education and Research Experience
- Master’s degree and demonstrated research experience (preferred) or Bachelor’s degree plus 2-3 years of relevant work experience
- Degree in sociology, policy, statistics, education, or a related field
Research and Related Skills
- Strong quantitative skills; facility with math and data (required)
- Experience conducting data analysis using descriptive and inferential statistics (required)
- Experience with data collection, cleaning, and preparation (required)
- Facility with Stata and/or other statistical analysis software (required)
- Good communication skills (required), strong writing (preferred)
- Experience conducting a research study from start to finish (preferred)
- Experience with database construction (preferred)
- Good academic record (a copy of transcript for most recent college degree will be requested)
- Experience with data visualization (preferred)

Compensation & Benefits
Full-time salary is $80,000 annually. Imagine offers generous benefits.
Location
US Eastern time zone preferred. Imagine is based in San Francisco, CA. Research sites are in West and East Africa. Employees work remotely from home. The Research Analyst is not required to travel to international research sites.
