Communications Coordinator, Inclusive Engagement

JOB SUMMARY

Kutak Rock LLP seeks a Communications Coordinator to join its Inclusive Engagement Department. This role works with the members of the Department to support inclusive engagement activities, strategy, and systems of the Firm, including, but not limited to, firm-wide affinity groups and committees, firm community service initiatives, legal career pipeline programming, vendor and supplier diversity, and additional internal programming.

 

This full-time remote position is available to candidates in close proximity in one of the following firm offices: Atlanta, GA; Denver, CO; Fayetteville, AR; Irvine, CA; Little Rock, AR; Los Angeles, CA;  Kansas City, MO; Minneapolis, MN; Omaha, NE; Philadelphia, PA; Richmond, VA; Rogers, AR; Scottsdale, AZ; Spokane, WA; Springfield, MO; Tallahassee, FL; or Washington, DC.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with the internal and external communications under the purview of the Inclusive Engagement Department which may include presentations, program or event communications (both internal and external), annual reports, surveys, website pages, press releases, articles, and social media
  • Create and maintains comprehensive project documentation, including tracking, and filing system for documents and emails related to communications efforts
  • Communicate and coordinates regularly with supervisor about performance of short- and long-term goals and important developments which may affect the on-time completion of scheduled communications and adjusts as needed
  • Promote excellence in Kutak Rock member and client experience through Department and Firm initiatives
  • Work with Department members to complete tasks related to communications
  • Ensure the quality of creative output meets or exceeds expectations and is delivered on time
  • Maintain a prioritized calendar of due dates and a schedule of deliverables while adjusting to changing priorities
  • Communicate with responsible parties, Department members, internal and external stakeholders, and provides timely responses to requests
  • Participate in inclusive engagement activities including, but not limited to, committee strategic planning, Department meetings and retreats, inclusive engagement training and education, management of communications vendors, preparation for the Firm’s partnership meeting, and committees and programs as required
  • Coordinate frequently with other members of the Department and collaborates with members of the Firm on a variety of projects in productive and positive manner in keeping with the Firm’s values and culture
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including supporting and serving as back-up to other Department members

 

QUALIFICATIONS: Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to discern and tailor communications for specific, varying audiences and platforms
  • Moderate to advanced proficiency facilitating Zoom meetings and webinars
  • Moderate to advanced proficiency with common business technology and programs (Microsoft Office, Adobe, Canva, SurveyMonkey, etc.) and willingness to learn new technologies
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team as well as the ability to work self-sufficiently while working alone
  • Ability to support and communicate the core values of the firm: client service; integrity and fairness; innovation; and inclusiveness and diversity
  • Knowledge of basic video editing
  • Knowledge of InDesign, Canva, or other similar design programs
  • Ability to be collaborative and work cross functionally across multiple departments and stakeholders
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to attend in-person meetings and events with travel as requested (10%)

 

QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience

  • High School Degree or equivalent required, College bachelor’s degree in English, Writing & Editing, Communications, Marketing, Social Media Management, or similar preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in a communications or marketing position required

 

Position Information

Status: Non-Exempt

Salary Range: $48,000-$64,000 commensurate with education and experience

Work Arrangement: Remote with in-person attendance and potential travel required as requested by supervisor
