Job Description
General Summary:
Under the supervision of the shareholder, department attorneys, and administrator, the legal assistant is responsible for assisting attorneys as needed, including, but not limited to:
- Prepare, revise, format, convert, and produce legal documents as requested.
- Proofreading documents for spelling, correct grammar, and overall accuracy.
- Prepare documents for closings, attending closings when necessary.
- Record documents as needed.
- Establish and maintain client files.
- Provide support to assigned attorneys, which may include answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing the calendar.
- Record attorney time in the billing system.
- Ensure a high level of service when interacting with clients, opposing counsel, and other internal and external contacts. Maintain discretion and sound judgment when interacting with others.
- Assist others when needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience in professional business.
- Strong work ethic.
- Ability to multi-task and handle responsibility.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe.
