Research Professional I - Engineering School

Summary of Job Duties:

The Research Professional I for Biological and Agricultural Engineering will support the research program on improving our understanding of sustainable agricultural production practices. It involves on-farm data collection through discussion with farmers, measuring agronomic growth conditions, and maintaining monitoring instrumentation. The position will include laboratory work to quantify samples of dissolved methane gas in natural and managed waterways. The position includes data organization, data analysis, and writing with the aim of supporting publications in the peer-reviewed literature. The position is intended to support the research program more generally through data management, scientific writing and presentation, and training tasks as needed.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in science, mathematics, business administration, public administration, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education

At least one year of experience in research, statistics, planning, or a related area

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in agricultural or biological engineering from an accredited institution of higher education

Academic background (i.e., coursework) in sustainability, biogeochemistry and/or food or agricultural systems

Demonstrated experience with greenhouse gas research

Demonstrated Experience with laboratory analytical techniques

 


Additional Information:

This position is renewable annually based on continued need for the position, availability of funding, and satisfactory job performance.

 

This position is located in Jonesboro, AR
