Summary:
The Security Awareness Intern is responsible for assisting with the development, review, implementation and maintenance of the organization’s information security awareness program. He or she will ultimately reduce risk throughout the organization by ensuring employees know and understand information security’s policies, as well as behave with a security mindset. This Security Awareness Intern is expected to develop and deliver awareness and training materials in person, hands-on as well as electronic and physical media. The ideal candidate for this role has passion for technology as well as information security and is capable of generating creative ideas that evangelize the criticality of information security in fun and engaging ways.

What You'll do as a Security Awareness Intern:
- Assist with development and maintenance of a security awareness program. The program must meet industry regulations, standards and compliance requirements. The program must be positive and engages employees to change behaviors both at home and at work.
- Develop and maintain the content for the cybersecurity website, social media channels, messaging, physical media, and computer-based training.
- Assist with the management of the enterprise-wide simulated phishing training program. Create phishing training, manage and track results, develop reports, perform trend and risk analysis, and communicate results.
- Conduct awareness briefings for small and large groups.
- Build relationships with cross-departmental partners to improve the quality of security awareness and training.
- Work with organizations outside of the company and vendors to support the awareness program.
- Plan, develop, manage, and run training for employees, through classroom training, demonstrations, meetings, tabletop exercises, conferences, and workshops.
- Formalize a metrics program that can measure the effectiveness of the security awareness program.
- Stay current with cybersecurity threats and trends.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed:
Required:
- Currently enrolled in an Associate's or Bachelor’s degree program. Majors can include: marketing, communications, business administration, psychology, sociology, human resources, education, technical, or other relevant field.
- Must at least be enrolled in sophomore year.
- Ability to work 20 hours per week in the Mentor, OH office throughout the spring semester.
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language that is both logical and comprehensive.
Preferred:
- GPA of 3.0 or above
- Experience delivering technical training or adult education in a classroom environment.
- Experience working in a security awareness or other relevant technical program. Knowledge of high level security concepts.
- Developing content for presentations, trainings, digital marketing channels, and technical messaging.
- Experience with event planning and execution.
