Position Overview

The Marketing and Communications Intern will assist in executing strategies to strengthen the organization’s online presence, enhance community outreach, and support the Development team in various projects. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to gain valuable experience in content creation, social media management, event promotion, and campaign development.  

Key Responsibilities 

Assist with up keeping the Hope House social media accounts 

Create and update Hope House marketing materials according to brand guidelines 

Occasionally attend Hope House events, both in house and third party 

Update Hope House website on Webflow platform as needed (event details, job descriptions, podcast episodes, etc.) 

Attend weekly Development Team meetings (in person or via Teams) 

Maintain confidentiality of donors and clients 

Supervision and Mentorship 

The Marketing and Communications Intern will report to the Chief Development Officer, and will meet weekly, in person or virtually.  In addition to gaining hands on experience with social media, marketing and communications internally and public facing, the position will provide opportunities to increase knowledge of domestic violence, Hope House programs and general non-profit operations. 

 

Skills & Qualifications 

Current college student pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related course 

Knowledge of various social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, and YouTube.  

Basic graphic design skills, working knowledge of Canva, Adobe, etc.  

Quality verbal and written communication skills 

Ability to work independently while completing tasks in a timely manner 

Preferred Qualifications 

Passion for social causes and nonprofit work, particularly in supporting victims of domestic violence. 

Compensation 

This is an unpaid internship. Academic credit can be offered depending on the requirements of the applicant’s university. 

Duration & Schedule 

January 2025 – May 2025 

Hybrid schedule  

15-20 hours per week (depending on required hours to obtain credit hours) 

Monday – Friday standard business hours with occasional weekends
