Job Title: Program Coordinator - Internship
Location: Georgia Lions Camp, Waycross, GA
Duration: Late May through the beginning of August
Compensation: Room & Board + Pay (TBD)

Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Program Coordinator Intern to assist in planning, organizing, and leading our camp programs. This role offers hands-on experience in program development, staff management, and camper engagement within a nonprofit camp setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Development: Assist in designing and implementing camp activities that align with our mission and values.
  • Staff Leadership: Support staff training and ongoing mentorship during camp sessions.
  • Camper Engagement: Ensure positive camper experiences by fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.
  • Event Coordination: Help organize special events, theme days, and evening programs.
  • Safety and Compliance: Monitor adherence to safety protocols, risk management procedures, and program guidelines.
  • Administrative Support: Maintain accurate program records, schedules, and reports as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Recreation Management, Education, Special Education, Social Work, Nursing, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to live on-site during camp sessions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in adaptive recreation, program development, or camp leadership.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities in a camp or similar environment.
  • Familiarity with outdoor activities such as canoeing, fishing, and nature education.
