Instructional Design and Information Sciences Intern - Summer 2025

The Role:
Our site in Billerica, MA is seeking a/an Instructional Design and Information Sciences Intern to join our team for the Summer 2025 season. This assignment is intended to be 12-14 weeks in duration.
Entegris is a leader within the semiconductor supply chain and our divisions focus on different industry needs. The proposed internship serves the Entegris Academy within the Office of the Chief Technology Officer (CTO). This role will provide you with access to SME (subject matter experts) across many different disciplines, providing you with a broad view of career opportunities within the semiconductor industry. This position can be based out of our Billerica, MA facility or be fully remote.
The overarching responsibility of this role is to generate a recommendation about the organization of technical learning content deployed across Entegris, which may also include the development of a taxonomy for that content.
At the end of the assignment, you will have:

• Explored and collaborated with many different functions across Entegris, including but not limited to applications engineering, R&D, new product introduction, new product development, product management, sales, marketing, and information technology
• Leveraged your academic training to make a recommendation about the organization of our technical know-how
• Practiced influence without authority skills to promote new ways to organize and sustain technical information.


What You’ll Do:
• Instructional design:
• Assess, design, and create learning content that helps Entegris employees learn about technical topics.
• Support the planning and facilitation of in-person learning activities
• Independently research topics in the semiconductor industry and create instruction based on your findings
• Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) spanning various technical functions across the organization to create learning content.
• Create graphical design (or supplemental training materials) elements that aid in learning
• Incorporate adult learning theory to instructional design deliverables
• Maintain and update instructional design materials information Sciences
• Review a subset of technical learning materials, gaining knowledge about Entegris technologies to best understand how to sustainably organize the materials
• Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) spanning various technical functions across the organization to best understand our learning materials and how they are currently stored and accessed.
• Make recommendations for information organization, to include archived documents and videos.
• Make a taxonomy recommendation as to how to label this information.
• Assist with the management of learning platforms (ex. Sharepoint, SumTotal).
• Other:
• Be exposed to senior leadership in Lunch & Learns

Outstanding Candidates Will Have:
• ​​​​​​​Software skills – familiarity with programs such as Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Photoshop, Microsoft Power Apps, Camtasia, etc.
• A strong interest in science communication
• Some flexibility to attend a few limited morning/late evening phone calls with international colleagues.
