Golf Management Internship, PGM 

II. Reports To

Hospitality Manager / 1st Assistant Golf Professional & Guest Service Manager &

Director of Reservations

III. Job Summary

Function in all areas of daily operation including initial reservations, registering for play, administering on course play, and the entire customer service spectrum of the daily guest experience.

Estimate of hours 40-48 hours/weekly, with average 5 days per week. May – Mid October 2025. 

IV. Duties / Responsibilities

Outside Services:

  • Greeting all overnight guests - assisting with luggage and valet service.
  • Greeting all golfing guests - assisting with golf bags, caddies, directions & parking.
  • Managing the Practice facility and the Drumlin putting course.
  • Moving & tracking luggage for overnight guests – arriving and departing.
  • Stocking and maintenance of the locker rooms on property.
  • Preparing guests luggage, golf clubs, and vehicles for departure. 
  • All other tasks defined in golf operations handbook and by MOD.

Reservations:

  • Answer incoming calls and assist with reservations, confirmations, room need requests, and questions. 
  • Understands and communicate the history, products, and services of the golf course. 
  • Sell, process, and confirm room reservations using selling techniques and strategies.
  • Answer incoming calls within three rings with appropriate greeting. 
  • Maintain knowledge of current course events, activities, and hours of operation as well as dining options currently available.

Golf Shop Attendant/Front Desk Services:

  • Register all daily golf guests and provide guest all facility information.
  • Function as a working member of the golf shop staff.
  • Manage tee sheet, Point of Sale (POS), and all other computer functions.
  • Sell merchandise and be educated in merchandise sales techniques and products.
  • Greet guests warmly and perform registration procedures. 
  • Provide guests with appropriate room assignments, room keys, directions to the rooms, while up-selling when appropriate.
  • Assist guests with issues and complaints, with empathy and a focus on guest satisfaction. Use supervisor support when necessary. 

V.  Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in the golf course or club industry is preferred
  • Completed or enrolled in an accredited hospitality or PGM program
  • Previous golf management software and operating a POS system preferred
  • Be able to lift 50 lbs. on a daily basis
  • The ability to stand up to 8 hours a day
  • The ability to work productively at a desk/computer for 8 hours a day
