Research Assistant in Neuropathology
Our lab seeks to understand the mechanisms underpinning neurodegenerative diseases, using a combination of neuropathological, single-cell, genomics, and biochemical approaches. One major scientific focus is on the causes and impact of somatic mutations in brain cells in neurodegeneration.
The Miller lab is located on the Harvard Medical School Longwood Campus, based in the Brigham and Women's Hospital Department of Pathology and are affiliated with the Brigham and Women's Hospital Department of Neurology, Boston Children's Hospital Division of Genetics and Genomics, and the Broad Institute.
We are looking for promising students who are interested in joining the Miller lab here in Boston as a full-time research assistant, before going on to a PhD, MD, or MD-PhD program. We use single-cell biology, genomics, biochemistry, and bioinformatics approaches, and lab members will have the opportunity to learn disease biology with Dr. Miller and other physician collaborators. Qualified students will have an outstanding scholastic record, prior research experience, and are fresh undergraduates (no Master's or post-college years).
Interested students can find more information on our website: www.mbmillerlab.org. We participate in the NIH Director’s New Innovator Award program, as one exciting direction we are taking for single-cell biology.
Please include a CV, transcript, names and contact information for three references. Please also include a cover letter describing your previous research and lab experience, technical and administrative skills, your career goals, and what about our lab interests you.
