Akron Community Internship:Wellness & Outreach Intern at Summit Recovery Hub

Summit Recovery Hub is looking for an intern to support wellness programming and community outreach. The role involves developing wellness initiatives, creating educational content, and assisting with events focused on harm reduction,anti-stigma, and holistic well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Wellness Programming: Develop and deliver wellness programs.
  • Outreach Support: Assist with community events like Overdose Awareness Month & International Recovery Day.
  • Curriculum Development: Create educational content on nutrition, movement, harm reduction, and anti-stigma awareness.
  • Community Engagement: Promote wellness initiatives and foster relationships with community members.

Project Timeline:

Start Jan 2025 | 100 hours | Off-campus

(exact dates TBD to accommodate student schedules)

Location: 572 W Market St building,Akron,OH 44303

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: Students from Dietetics, Nutrition Sciences, Nursing, Mental Health Counseling, Sociology, Communications, Education, Criminal Justice, Sports Sciences, and related fields.
  • Experience: Experience with recovery communities, Trauma-Informed Care, or unsheltered populations is a plus.
  • Skills: Strong communication, outreach, and curriculum development skills.
  • Lived Experience: Candidates with lived experience in recovery or relevant areas are encouraged to apply.
