Elementary School Principal

Position Title: Elementary School Principal

Assignment: Crete Elementary School, grades PreK-2

Reports to: Superintendent

Contract: 245 days

 

Crete Public School is seeking qualified applicants for the Elementary School Principal position for the 2025-2026 school year. Benefits include paid health insurance, long-term disability insurance, group term life insurance, and personal and sick leave. This position is considered open until filled.

 

Purpose:

The Elementary School Principal performs tasks assigned by the superintendent and executive cabinet and leads the Crete Elementary administrators and staff in order to provide students with a safe and rigorous learning environment.



 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Instructional Leadership
  1. Leads the establishment of a vision, mission, and goals for Crete Elementary School
  2. Provides leadership in planning, implementing, and evaluating instructional programs
  3. Provides instructional leadership to ensure student learning opportunities are maximized
  4. Represents the school administrative team on school district committees as assigned
  5. Coordinates student teachers and other university observers with the Chief of Staff
  6. Leads specific departments/programs assigned by the superintendent or their designee
  7. Positively promotes the brand and branding of Crete Public Schools and Crete Elementary School
  8. Coordinates with the counselors, teachers, and staff to ensure personalized learning experiences are designed for all students

 

 

  • Staff
  1. Leads the process of interviewing, evaluating, and selecting new staff
  2. Determines staff assignments and organization of duties and responsibilities
  3. Responds to specific staff’s questions, concerns, and needs to accomplish specific performance objectives
  4. Observes and evaluates staff (certified and classified) as assigned and provide direction and support to accomplish growth targets
  5. Leads the development of professional growth plans for staff and presents information to support professional growth as requested

 

 

  • Curriculum
  1. Leads the supervision, evaluation, and development of Crete Elementary School instructional programs
  2. Leads observing and meeting with teachers to ensure instructional programs are implemented with fidelity
  3. Leads the monitoring of instructional programs to ensure district guidelines are followed
  4. Leads the registration and master scheduling process
  5. Serves on a variety of committees to meet educational goals as requested

 

  • Students
  1. Keeps the safety, health, and well-being of students foremost throughout the performance of all duties
  2. Supervises student activities before, during, and after school
  3. Communicates with students, staff, and parents behavior expectations and ensures the enforcement of the same, following the district established due process procedures
  4. Meets with students, parents, and staff to solve and address specific student behavior issues as necessary
  5. Reports and/or investigates complaints and concerns regarding student safety in a timely manner
  6. Maintains records of student behavior and discipline as necessary

 

 

  • Resource Management
  1. Provides financial leadership by monitoring and expending funds and resources provided by the district and other entities according to district policies and procedures
  2. Provides facility leadership by monitoring and reviewing facilities to ensure a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and the community

     

 

  • Community
  1. Promotes Crete Elementary School to local and surrounding communities, sharing Crete Elementary School’s vast opportunities afforded to all students and families
  2. Fosters and grows community relationships to maximize student learning opportunities 

 

 

Other Responsibilities

  1. Performs other duties as assigned

 

Position Requirements:

  1. Master’s Degree in Education, including Nebraska Administrative Certification
  2. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required
  3. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to establish trust and rapport with students, parents, and staff
