Graphic Design Intern

Graphic Design Internship Opportunity with The Jungle Journal

 

We are seeking a Graphic Design Intern who will help in creating visually engaging content as well as in assisting in the conducting of research to support our position as thought leaders in the climate space.

 

You will assist in the raising awareness of environmental, cultural, and political issues globally but with an emphasis in Latin America. Your contributions will primarily support our social media presence, ensuring our messages reach and resonate with our global audience

 

Responsibilities include:

 

  1. Designing and contributing to visually compelling materials, such as infographics, digital publications, and other graphic assets that highlight key themes in environmental and cultural preservation.
  2. Creating content to promote and celebrate contributors to The Jungle Journal’s online blog.
  3. Researching and presenting topics of environmental, cultural, and political significance from Latin America to inform and inspire social media posts.
  4. Developing graphics that accompany updates, news, and features about Latin America-- in the context to environmental and cultural preservation-- ensuring all content aligns with the journal’s aesthetic and mission.
  5. Collaborating with the team to brainstorm creative ideas for campaigns, posts, and storytelling formats.

 

An ideal candidate would be:

  • Passionate about environmental conservation and rainforest preservation.
  • Interested in indigenous cultures, traditions, and their connection to ecological stewardship.
  • Enthusiastic about storytelling, ethical journalism, and amplifying underrepresented voices.
  • Drawn to exploring the intersection of biodiversity and cultural diversity.
  • Eager to contribute to education initiatives about climate change and sustainable practices.
  • Fascinated by global travel, ethical tourism, and cross-cultural exchange.
  • Committed to social and environmental justice advocacy.
  • Curious about the role of language and culture in preserving ecosystems.
  • Motivated to create compelling multimedia content (writing, photography, videography, or graphic design).
  • Aligned with the vision of building a global community dedicated to cultural and environmental diversity.
