This is an advanced paid internship that performs a variety of administrative and support functions within the department for the duration of one semester (21 weeks). The intern will work closely with experienced professionals to gain valuable insights and contribute to real-world projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a student or recent graduate to gain hands-on experience in Graphic Design, Multimedia, Print design, and video editing and production.
The Graphic Design Intern will work closely with the Marketing & Communication team to create engaging visual content.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
- High degree of organizational skill and problem-solving ability; specifically, the ability to work as a self-starter.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud software, including Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and After Effects.
- Ability to execute accurately at a high level without excess supervision.
- Ability to prioritize/execute to achieve desired company and project goals with prudence and sense of urgency.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work on special projects as assigned by the Marketing and Communications Officer.
- Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and composition.
- The ideal candidates should have a portfolio showcasing their work.
- Proven experience working independently and managing multiple assignments in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to lift, carry, pull, push, and maneuver materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Training and Experience
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a related field of study.
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university and pursuing a master’s or doctoral degree program in a related field of study preferred.
- Or, an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- The ideal candidate should possess experience in video editing and print collateral.
- 1-2 years of experience in graphic design, video editing, and content creation.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud software, including Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and After Effects.
Special Requirements
· Valid Florida driver's license.
Copies of required certification(s) must be submitted with the application.
