Assistant Professor of Mass Communication - Public Relations

The Department of Communication at the University of North Alabama is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our faculty for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor position in Mass Communication – Public Relations, beginning in August 2025. This is a nine-month appointment, with an opportunity for teaching in the summer based on departmental need. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service.

The standard teaching load is twelve (12) credit hours per semester. Experience in online teaching or a willingness to learn how to develop and teach online courses is required. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in Crisis Management, PR Cases, PR Writing, and other courses as needed.

A PhD in mass communication or a related area from an accredited university is required (ABD candidates may be considered). Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in public relations or communications and a record of teaching excellence. Review of applications will begin on February 17, 2025 and continue until the position is filled.
