About Us:
Alexandra Marks Jewelry is a jewelry store with two Chicago locations that specializes in permanent jewelry and one of a kind jewelry pieces. We are looking for a fun, energetic and creative social media intern to help us bring our vision to life on social media.
Position Overview:
As a Social Media Intern, you will work closely with our social media and marketing manager to create engaging content for our social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. This position is hybrid with the ability to work remotely, however you will be required to visit each store weekly to create content in the stores on Michigan Avenue and Wicker Park. You will be required to take photos and video of customers getting permanent jewelry as well as create captivating and trending content using the jewelry in store.
Responsibilities:
- Create and curate content for social media.
- Assist in developing a marketing plan to attract customers.
- Boost brand awareness through engaging social media campaigns.
- Organize and manage social media contests and giveaways.
- Interact with customers through social media.
- Help increase our follower count and engagement across platforms.
- Identify web trends and propose new ways to engage our audience.
- Assist in email marketing campaigns
- Assist in promoting private events at the Wicker Park location and pop-up shops
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills and an outgoing, friendly personality.
- Active personal presence on social media with a solid understanding of each platform and best practices.
- Basic knowledge of social media analytics and campaign management.
- Creativity and a proactive approach to generating and executing ideas.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Experience with Canva and social media marketing.
- Desire to learn and grow in the field of social media and marketing.
- Reliable Wi-Fi and access to a smartphone, laptop, or tablet.
Requirements:
- Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule.
- Willingness to attend in-person photoshoots and content days.
- Ability to visit both the Michigan Ave and Wicker Park stores weekly to create content
- Photography skills are a plus but not required.
Additional Information:
- Hours per Week: 7-10 hours, flexible and adaptable to your schedule. Looking to start as soon as possible.
- Must be able to visit stores on Michigan Avenue and in Wicker Park to create content.
- Internship Duration: Flexible, based on your academic schedule or for a 3-month term.
- Credit: Eligible for school credit depending on your institution’s requirements.
- Compensation: This is to gain experience in social media marketing and you will not receive a monetary compensation. A letter of recommendation will be provided upon successful completion.
